Hello Darling
Hello Darling was a deeply personal project, built for Paolo’s wife and her business partner—a joint salon and makeup studio housed in a transformed old garage along the Truckee River in Reno. Every detail was designed and fabricated with intention, blending vintage character with refined craftsmanship.
The space showcases custom display boxes crafted from salvaged Reno lumber, preserving a sense of local heritage. A handmade pocket door and track, along with custom-painted rear doors featuring machined steel portholes, add an industrial yet refined touch. At its center, a copper-plated cantilevered reception desk and a handmade swing serve as both striking focal points and functional design elements.

One of the most distinctive elements is the in-house cast and polished terrazzo. Instead of traditional stone, we incorporated multicolored glass, creating surfaces that shimmer like precious gemstones, a fitting nod to the elegance of the salon’s services.
The custom detailing extends to every element—from bespoke air registers and exterior signage to electrified carts machined and fabricated specifically for each stylist. Even the extension cords were custom-wrapped in vintage-inspired, cloth-covered “hot rod” wiring, merging style with function in a way that reflects the salon’s unique character.
Designed and handcrafted entirely by TF, Hello Darling is more than a salon—it’s an immersive, one-of-a-kind space where craftsmanship meets beauty, just like the work done within its walls.
