Stremmel

Designed by renowned architect Mark Mack, the Stremmel Residence embodies bold modernism set against the rugged Nevada landscape. While we weren’t involved in the initial build, we were brought in to solve a critical issue: cladding the expansive exterior block retaining wall, which was leaching calcium and disrupting the clean aesthetic of the property.

To address this, we installed Cor-Ten steel panels, spaced off the wall to encourage airflow and shadow play. The result is a seamless transition between the high desert terrain and the home’s structured concrete elements, creating a striking interplay of color and texture that enhances the natural surroundings.

Beyond structural enhancements, the Stremmels—known for their prestigious contemporary art gallery and as organizers of the Coeur d’Alene Art Auction, the largest Western art auction—commissioned us to fabricate custom sculptural stands to showcase large-scale pieces within their residence. These installations required not only engineering precision but also an understanding of balance, proportion, and artistic integrity.

Our collaboration with the Stremmels has continued, and we are now deeply involved in their newest venture—a hyper-modern home designed by OPA Architects, where our expertise is being applied from the ground up. This ongoing partnership is a testament to our ability to blend structural ingenuity with artistic vision, ensuring every project is as functional as it is visually compelling.
